Check Your Heart
I was reading Proverbs 6:16-19 last night and it made me stop and realize how often I do one of these things. As far as I know I have never killed anyone, but this verse clearly shows that a lying tongue is just as detestable to the Lord as a murder. How often do I realize that my heart leads right to sin that I thought I had conquered. I am not even going to talk about the times I have talked about someone behind their back to change someone else's opinion about them. Are these life patterns? I pray they aren't but I can't help but feel that I have a lot of sin in my life that I don't always take serious. It is not something to scoff at, the Bible clearly says God hates theses actions. What is the point of this post? Well I hope it makes you look at your heart's actions as it has done for me. There is a lot I could work on in my life, but why not start with 7 things that our Lord hates.
"There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers."

Didn't know you had a blog. I love it Nate! What a great entry. Things we should all remember and work on. Thanks for the encouragement.

We have been going through this chapter in high school group at church and it's been such a good reminder to not get caught up in a rather regular lifestyle. Thanks for the warning!
